Welcome to the Kairali Talent Show (Kalolsavam), an exciting platform to showcase your artistic talents! This non-competitive event celebrates creativity, culture, and community. Whether performing a classical dance, playing an instrument, or putting on a skit, this is your chance to shine and share your passion. In addition to providing a unique platform to display your creative, intellectual, and artistic aptitude, it is simply so much fun to be a part of it!

Kalolsavam helps build confidence and interpersonal skills through collaboration and engagement while fostering a sense of belonging and togetherness within our Kairali community. General Questions

Q: When and where is the Talent Show happening?
A: The Talent Show will take place on May 17, 2025, at Lebanon City Schools District Performance Center, 160 Miller Rd, Lebanon, OH 45036.

Q: Is this a competition?
A: No, this is not a competition.

Q: What categories are available for performances?
A: The categories include:

  • Classical Dance

  • Non-Classical Dance

  • Instrumental Music

  • Classical Music

  • Non-Classical Music

  • Skits

  • Mime

  • Others (e.g., Magic, Standup Comedy, etc.)

Participant Rules

Q: How many performances can a participant register for?
A: Each participant can register for a maximum of two performances, including Solo and Group. However, the same category cannot be repeated (e.g., a participant cannot register for two Classical or Non-Classical dances). Skit and Mime are exempt from this limit.

Q: Are there any participant limits for group performances?
A: Yes, group performances are limited to a maximum of 12 participants per group. Skits are exempt from this limit.

Q: Who is eligible to participate?

A:

  • Solo Performances: Open to Malayalees only.

  • Group Performances: At least 50% of the group members must be Malayalees.

Performance Details

Q: How long can each performance be?
A:

  • Each solo performance should not exceed 5 minutes.

  • Each group performance should not exceed 7 minutes, except for skit and mime.

Q: Can tracks be in any language?
A: Yes, tracks can be in any language.

Q: When do I need to submit my music track?
A: Music tracks must be submitted to the cultural coordinator no later than April 25, 2025.

Registration

Q: When does registration open and close?
A: Registration opens on January 31, 2025, and closes on February 28, 2025.

Q: How do I register for a group performance?

A:

  • Each group performance requires a separate registration.

  • Select the ticket quantity based on the total number of participants in your group (e.g., Qty 6 for six participants).

  • Fill out participant details, including names and emails, for each ticket.

  • Assign a group coordinator and use the same coordinator's name, email, and phone number on all tickets.

  • Enter all participants' names in the designated field as a comma-separated list.

  • Click the button Register for Group Performance for Registration

Q: How do I register for a solo performance?
A:

  • Each solo performance requires a separate registration.

Q: What are the registration fees?
A:

  • Solo Performances: $20 per event

  • Group Performances: $15 per participant

Q: What happens after I register?
A:
The Kairali committee will review all registrations and send a confirmation email within two weeks after the registration deadline.

Audience Admission

Q: Is audience admission open?
A: Audience general admission will start in early spring. Currently, only participant registration is open

Q: Are participants required to pay for Audience admission?
A: No, participants who have paid the participant fee are exempt from the audience admission fee.

Policies and Responsibility

Q: Are parents required to supervise children?
A: Yes, parents or guardians must accompany children at all times.

Q: Will Kairali be responsible for valuables?
A: No, participants are responsible for securing their valuables. Kairali is not liable for lost or stolen items.

Q: Can I opt out of media coverage?
A: Yes, participants who wish to exclude their pictures or videos must email kairalikats@gmail.com before the registration deadline.

Q: What if I need to cancel my registration?
A: Once your performance is confirmed, the registration fee is non-refundable.

Q: Do participants have to agree to the rules?
A: Yes, participants must agree to be bound by the rules and indicate acceptance during registration.

Q: Is Kairali responsible for copyright claims?
A: No, Kairali is not responsible for any claims of copyright violations.

Event Changes and Cancellations

Q: Can the event schedule change?
A: Yes, organizers may alter the event sequence or stage arrangements on the event day without prior notice.

Q: Can the event be canceled?
A: Organizers reserve the right to cancel the Talent Show or specific categories for any reason, including technical issues.
