Good friends, like a tonic

Energize a heavy mind

All I need is a cup of tea – steaming Chaya

My jolly good friends

And the world is mine

Good friends, like pep pills

Rejuvenate the mind

All I need is a lawn, a shady tree

My jolly good friends

And the world is mine

Feminine one moment, tender, wistful

Gentle words in a whispered hushing

Ribald the next, void of reverence

Ready to send a sailor blushing

Impish looks and shrieks of laughter

“Do you know he slept

With that woman’s daughter?”

When my heart’s sagging and my spirits are low

Bring on my friends and I’m ready to go.
